Dining at The Yew Tree Inn
The Yew Tree Inn has always had a reputation for serving outstanding food and has just added two AA Rosettes to its foodie accolades. Our superb kitchen team has developed a deep love of British produce and high-quality locally sourced ingredients. Our chefs draw inspiration for our menu from the surrounding English countryside so expect to dine on fresh fish and game plucked straight from forests and rivers nearby.

Our unique menu format offers a versatile approach with guests able to pick between an array of different sizes. Dining at The Yew Tree Inn varies from bar snacks and small plates to mains and sharing dishes, so there is plenty to choose from. For those that can’t decide, we welcome you to select whichever dishes take your fancy and create your own bespoke tasting menu.
A traditional Sunday roast
Join us on Sunday’s when we expand our menu to include a British classic, the Sunday Roast. Choose from our decadent take on the big three; rich sirloin of beef with horseradish, free range chicken breast with lemon and thyme stuffing, or succulent pork belly paired with apple compote. All of our roasts come served with the traditional trimmings including roast potatoes, seasonal vegetables and a delicious roasting jus.
Pull up a chair and join us for a drink
Sit back and enjoy a traditional English pub within a beautiful countryside setting. With plenty of nooks and crannies for you to rest your feet, we’re looking forward to welcoming you for a drink in our newly refurbished bar. Relax with a pint of local ale and a paper beside our huge wood-burning fireplaces or join us at our beautiful copper-top bar for one of our delicious signature cocktails. Whether you’re here for dinner or just stopping by, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
Bask in the sunshine and dine on delicious seafood in our garden
On sunny days, with two spacious outdoor dining areas, an outdoor bar complete with oversized ice buckets for our favourite summer wines and a brand new seafood offering sit back and enjoy the pleasant summer days in Highclere. Alongside our usual menu of seasonal fish and game, we are making the most of the summer months with a delicious seafood bar. Expect fresh daily catches, oysters on ice and plenty of lobster specials – perfect with a chilled glass of rosé.

With a fabulous array of fine wines tucked away in our cellar there are plenty of bottles for guests to enjoy for every occasion. From rich Burgundies to smooth Bordeauxs and fine clarets, we’ve spent a long time perfecting our wine list to ensure there is something to suit every palate. Sample our collection of Château de Beaucastel Rouges highlighted by the rare Hommage a Jacques Perrin, an impeccable Mourvèdre blend with a rich and intense flavour profile.
As well as our fine wine list, we also have some incredible bin ends on offer, make sure to ask our bar staff what we have in stock that week for you to try.
